Freelance and a College Degree
Well, I never thought I'd see the day that my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology (with a Women's Study Minor) would help me in my freelancing career, but indeed I've seen the day! I've been doing a part time gig of researching and writing about several sociological trends, particularly as to how they relate to women. I'm in heaven! I'm a sociologist by nature, and it's so fun to be able to get paid (albeit a small stipend) to do something I love.
As with most freelance writing jobs, I can apply what I've learned into my own personal projects. Working with Blowhard Bob allowed me to get paid to research Law of Attraction, positive thinking, blog marketing, and mlms. I can apply the Law of Attraction into my own personal life, and I have set up my own Hope in a Blog. I have a keen interest in alternative thinking and spirituality. I can also use all the things I learned from heavily reseaching blog marketing for my own personal blogs. And - lol - I cured myself of my forbidden attraction to mlms by doing extensive research on literally hundreds of them.
With every job I have, I try to learn something. Life is made for learning, and I'm passionate about it. That's why I try to only take jobs in which I have an interest in the subject matter. There's no sense in having to immerse yourself in something if you have an aversion to it. I applaud writers who have the ability to write about anything, though. In a way, I do wish I could, cuz I'm sure I'd make more money. But I wonder...do they enjoy their jobs as much as I do?
Life...it's made to be enjoyed!
